Adopt a Student
Adopt-a-Student is a program designed to link needy students in our mission villages with families and individuals in the US. School age children and youth have been selected through pastor referral and an interview process. Our purpose is to assist these young people with life needs and school expenses and to develop relationships between the students and their sponsors.
We believe poverty of spirit and the resultant loss of self-esteem is more detrimental to our students than physical poverty alone. Students sponsorship, with its personal connections, promotes hope and builds confidence in the children and youth involved. This eventually spills over to the entire community. The benefit to the sponsors will be close personal connections with individual students and the opening of hearts in loving relationship. Our ultimate purpose is for the young people to grow in faith and experience the destiny God has planned for them. Come partner with us!
The Adopt-a-Student Plan
- Needy students from our village churches have been selected for this program.
- Interested sponsors should contact one of the project supervisors listed below to request a student. The supervisor will explain how to send your sponsorship and answer your questions.
- Each sponsored student's needs will be reviewed on a regular basis.
- Sponsors and students will be linked together through email letters if desired. Reports on the children's progress in school and at home will be sent upon twice a year.
- Sponsorship funds will be used to pay for
- School tuition, uniforms, shoes, backpacks, school supplies and graduation expenses.
- Basic medical and dental care will be provided and eyeglasses if needed.
- Program expenses for Christian life training and costs for a monthly birthday celebration will be met.
- Sponsored students will be required to stay in school and maintain adequate grades. They will be required to regularly attend the Christian programs provided for their spiritual growth.
- Costs:
- $25 per month for school age children
- $70 per month for trade school students
- $100 per month for university students (sponsorship for trade school and university can be a one year renewable commitment)
